Award Winning Artist Mary
"Simon"Walker moved to Jacksonville in 1986 and made Florida her permanent home. An oil portrait artist and
watercolorist, her paintings are of places she has been subjects that are of interest to her. She enjoys painting "Plen
Air" and comments, " I like to create illusion and allow the viewer to interpret what he or she sees. I like to paint with
loose control."
Since 1999 the name of Jesus appears
in all of her paintings. Because of her love for Florida lizards and tree frogs, you will find them in all of her
Florida paintings since 2001.
Mary has studied with well known
artists, Kinley Shoengren, Donna Garven, Margaret Twitchell Swank, Pat Lust, Hercel Stallard, and Pat Weaver. Her paintings
are in collections in Ohio, Maryland, Kansas, Arizona, and Florida.
