| Mary Walker entry juried into FWS Delray Beach show |
Member and former Art Guild President Mary Walker was juried into the Florida Watercolor Society show this year. Hers was
one of 50 pieces chosen (out of more than 600 entries) to hang in the Crest Theatre next to the Cornell Museum of Art.
The show is in Delray Beach and runs from September 4th to October 1, 2008. Take a day trip and enjoy the show.

Member Desirre Kantrim will be showing her collection "Transitions" in the Vandroff Gallery in t he Jewish
Community Alliance, 8505 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville from August 3 to August 27th. The Opening is planned for Sunday,
August 3 from 2-4pm.
The membership of the Art Guild has been invited to participate in the upcoming "Pink
Ribbon" Symposium on Saturday, October 4th from about 9-12noon. Tables for vendors are available for $100 each
and can be shared. Of course items for sale should be related to the pink ribbon breast cancer theme.. for more information
contact 538-4484. Local physicians will be giving talks on preventation, treatment, exercis and nuturition. This
contact comes from our association with the Orange Park Cancer Center where we exhibit our art work on a rotating basis.
The guest speaker will be Jeannie Blaylock of First Coast News.
November will be our Annual Juried Exhibition
in the Orange Park Library. Members may enter 2 pieces for jurying and judging at $10 each. The Opening Reception
will be November 6th from 6-8pm. A volunteer Show Chairperson is needed...Call Carolyn at 215-9177.
The membership
of the Art Guild of Orange Park, Inc. will be presenting a member only Juried Exhibition in the Lee-Adams Florida Artist Gallery
in the Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts that will open with a special reception on September 12th at 7pm. The event
is themed "Celebrating the Arts in our Community and the Community in Our Arts"...as the THCA will celebrate it's
5th Anniversary, the Art Guild it's 35th Anniversary and the 150th Anniversary of Clay County. Members are invited
to submit three works(at no cost) for jurying by Tony Falcone, Exhibition Designer and Curator for the THCA, on September
2 and 3 from 10-4pm in the THCA Adminstrative Office just to the right of the outdoor box office. The exhibit opens
to the public on September 15th. The gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10-4pm and free. More information will be mailed
to members in the near future.
The List of Clay County Agricultural Fair Art and Photography Awards is on our Clay County Fair
page! Special thanks to member Lynette Woodman who has worked all year long on this event.
The exhibit is lovely and well received by the Fair visitors.
