The Art Guild of Orange Park, Inc. is pleased to announce the recipient of the Art Guild Scholarship for 2010. She is Angela Epifano, a Ridgeview High School. Angela received her Scholarship award of $1000.00 at the May 4th meeting of the Art Guild at the Lion's Club. Her parents, Angela and Anthony Epifano and sister, Anna, were also present to enjoy the event. She will be attending Amherst College majoring in Linguistics and Visual Arts with a concentration in Photo-Journalism. One of her biggest passions in life is photography which she has studied the past three years in IP and AP Art. At the portfolio reviews conductd by the Art Guild's Scholarship Committee, there were several qualified and impressive candidates. However Angela's portfolio and resume clearly stood out among the rest. When she was presented with her award, Angela expressed a desire to one day have her photography appear among the pages of such publications as Life Magazine and National Geographic. With her passion and talent, we fully believe it could happen.

Aside from her art, Angela has a wide range of interests. She plays the violin. She is an accomplished athlete, a Senior All-Star Athlete who lettered in Cross-Country, Track and Field and Weightlifting. She is also the recipient of an athletic scholarship. Among her academic honors, she has earned membership to the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Rho Kappa -National History Honor Society. She adores the outdoors. Having been an Assistant Ecology Specialist and canoe instructor, Angela plans to take on a job as a kayak instructor this summer. Along with a strong background in survival skills she is certified by the American Red Cross in CPR and First Aid.
Angela has received many accolades and honors in all of these areas of interest. To name just few: She has been inteviewed for the national Skirt! magazine. She was profiled in a Channel 12 news "Power of One" feature. She has received awards for her photography at the Clay County Fair, in Clay County Science Fairs, and numerous athletic and academic awards.
We Congratulate Angela for all of her accomplishments and hope to see her work published and her dreams fulfilled.
