Just LOOK at those shadows!

The Art Guild offered an all day class with Hercel Stallard.  He is unforgettable and always has a way of tweaking your work to make it much better than before.  He shared with us the deeper colors in nature that are lurking behind the muddy browns and grays.  His grasp of the whole dimension of scenery is amazing.  His paintings are like the difference between a circle and a sphere.

We are grateful for his time and knowledge and most of all his humorous way of teaching that brings forth the joy of art.

This year's Orange Park Fall Festival was well attended and our booth drew a lot of interest. We sold several paintings, prints and cards.  Two new members signed up and several more plan to attend our next meeting to check us out!  Word continues to spread about our group.  The level of talent, the mix of art media and the good works we are doing in the community are generating more and more interest each year.  Kudos to our festival committe, contributors and the volunteers!  Festival visitors missed our raffle though!  Wait till next year!!!

Glass studio of Sister Diane Coutoure
DSCN2231.JPG

Yolanda Bosworth, Barbara Berlin, Leslie Lionnet and I enjoyed a morning visit to Sister Diane Coutoure's Stained Glass studio in St. Augustine.  We were all impressed with the beautiful creations and came away with a true appreciation for the patience required to complete a project.  Each piece of glass is carefully cut, painted and fired many times to achieve the depth of color required to be successfully viewed from a distance.  We appreciate the time Sister Diane shared with us considering her busy schedule!!!!
