Dear Members,
Our first meeting of the new season will be here before you know it!!! Tuesday, September 2nd
at 7PM in the Lions Club of Orange Park, we will have as our guest speaker Ms. Kezia Reninger, Art Teacher at the
Lake Asbury Junior High School. Kezia will be discussing Artist's Trading Cards and providing us with a hands on
demonstration about this new creative idea. Bring along scissors, glue, markers, scraps of paper, colored pencils or
whatever you have that you think will fit on a card 21/2" X 31/2". Bring along your imagination and relax
and have some fun. We will supply the cards!!!!!
At our meeting will be collecting art/craft supplies
for the KIDS NET Foster Care Program in Clay County...Art Supplies, paints, smocks, etc. for Wilkinson Elementary School and
small personal items for a gift basket that will be raffled off at the Pink Ribbon Symposium on October 4th. This event
is an informational program to discuss Breast Cancer. The basket is in need of small personal items..toiletries, hand
made cards, jewerly, etc. For more information regarding the Symposium contact member Susan Mills 272-2245.
Members are reminded that the Golden Acrylic Workshops planned for October 8th and 9th are filling up fast...save your space
now...remember you will receive lots of paints and painting materials(FREE) from this excellent line of acrylics.
A sign up sheet will circulate at the meeting or you may complete the form you received and mail it in to the P.O. Box 2554,

On Tuesday, September 2 and Wednesday, September 3 from 10-4PM you are invited to drop off
up to 3 entries (NO COST) for our Juried Membership Exhibition in t he Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts (administration
office to the right of the outside box office). Remember please that your work MUST be clearly labeled on the back (forms
were sent to you and will be available at sign in) you will be asked to sign the work in (PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY). This
exhibit will be juried by the THCA Exhibit Coordinator Tony Falcone, who has over 40 years experience in the performing and

some questions as to whether or not there is a theme to this exhibit...no theme...just your very best work
is required.
The THCA has mailed out several hundred invitations for the Opening on Friday, September 12th
at 7pm. We will have additional invitations for you at the September meeting.
Your hand created Postcards
are starting to arrive and I now have about 50...please mail yours to the Art Guild P.O. Box 2554, Orange Park, FL 32067
